Art HistoryIn my freshman year of college, I took an art history survey course. I realized almost immediately that this was the field I wanted to study. In addition to the simple enjoyment of looking at art and architecture, the field of art history provides an opportunity in which to study other cultures, countries and time periods. I hold a Bachelor of Art degree in Art History from Wayne State University and a Master of Art in Art History degree from Oberlin College. Both degree programs provided me with a great foundation in the history of art. For the past 10 years, I've been working at the Art Institute of Chicago, which has also been an amazing place to continue my education. Since graduating, I've wanted to continue working in the field of art history. Visual Resources, I've discovered, is a great field in which to work because I can not only continue learning about art and its history, but I can also develop skills for employing new technologies that provide content to the classroom and lecture hall. Here's a great resource for art history on the web. |
